Coordinating Work Plans after Retirement
The CSU provides faculty with a number of retirement options and benefits, including retirement income, medical and dental coverage, and several voluntary retirement savings plans. If you are considering retirement, please contact Human Resources for details and options to consider when making this decision.
Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP)
The Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP) allows tenured faculty who are eligible for service retirement to retire and continue teaching for a maximum time base (50 percent) and duration as established in the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Pre-Retirement Reduction in Time Base (PRTB)
PRTB allows tenured faculty members who have reached the age of 55 to phase into actual retirement through reduction in time base to an average of two-thirds, one-half, or one-third of full-time while maintaining full retirement credit and other benefits for a maximum of five years.
