Bereavement/Funeral Leave
The CSU Bereavement Leave Policy provides paid time off for the purposes of preparing, attending and/or traveling to a funeral for the employee's immediate family or close relative.

Phsycians (R01) | 5 days for each death of a significantly close relative |
CSUEU (R02,5,7,9) | 5 days for an immediate family member |
Faculty (R02) | 5 days for each death of an immediate family member |
Academic Support (R04) | 5 days with pay for each death of a significantly close person |
Public Safety (R08) | 5 days for an immediate family member |
IUOE (R10) | 5 days for each death of a significantly close relative, or domestic partner |
Academic Student Employees (R11) | 2 days with pay for each death of an immediate family member, or 3 days with pay if travel of over 500 miles is required |
Confidential (C99) | 5 days for each death of an immediate family member or significantly close relative |
Management Personnel Plan (MPP) (M80) | 5 days for each death of an immediate family member or significantly close relative |
Excluded (E99, Police Officer Cadet only) | 2 days for each death of an immediate family member |
All other Excluded (E99) | Not available to employees within this employee category |
