We've found these websites to be helpful in searching for scholarship funds. This will involve searching these websites frequently (once every three months as deadline dates can spread throughout the year). Keep a copy of your most current unofficial college transcript, letters of recommendation from faculty and employers, and a well written cover letter that states your educational goals, career goals and financial situation. You can always update the letter to suit the criteria of specific scholarships.

There are two caveats: Do not ever pay a fee to apply for a scholarship and never give your Date of Birth and Social Security Number to anyone.

If you have applied to and already been awarded an outside scholarship, make sure that your donor or the scholarship agency sends the check to the correct office to ensure your scholarship is applied to your student account.
