Our Campus-Community Garden has created a mutually beneficial partnership between the cadets and the community, resulting in a relaxing and beautiful addition to campus where cadets' comradery shines as they work and learn together.  Having been established in 2014 from funds granted by the City of Vallejo as one of the resident-chosen Participatory Budgeting Projects, it was dubbed ‘Tiara’s Legacy’ in April 2022 in honor of the Garden Manager, Tiara Supakit ('22), who gave many hours to enhancing it during her tenure at Cal Maritime.  A variety of vegetables grow throughout the year, including beets, zucchini, tomatoes, Swiss Chard, and even herbs like rosemary and sage. Tiara added a vast array of succulents, as well as beautiful flowers, which act as companions to help deter pests and attract beneficial pollinators for the veggies.

Our Campus-Community Garden, located just south of the PEAC pool is a nice little spot that not only engages the cadets, but it provides veggies to some of our neighbors in need through our Community Partner organizations.  

We celebrate the success of our Garden Manager and graduating senior, Tiara Supakit ('22). Tiara has spent countless hours lovingly tending to the garden and inspiring her peers to participate as well. She will be sorely missed, so we really want to show her some love and appreciation. If you know Tiara, you know what a bright light she is!
