Role of RIO
Role of RIO in Administering Sponsored Projects
The role of our office is to assist the Principal Investigator during the entire period of the award. Traditionally we provide the basic institutional information for the proposal and assist with the budget and proposal review. Ultimately we are here to encourage and facilitate the success of research on our campus. The role of RIO includes:
-
Provide direction with research of potential funding sources
- Provide advice and training on developing a competitive proposal
- Assist with proposal design and budget design
- Review for compliance with agency, Chancellor's Office, and campus entities
- Assist in shepherding through the approval and submittal process
