Madeleine Wolczko
A Mariner's Journey from Shipboard Restrictions to Cinematic Exploration
Madeleine, a 2015 graduate of CMA, embarked on a remarkable journey after joining
MMP (Masters, Mates, and Pilots). Over the past 9 years, she has sailed on both liner
and tramp ships, earning the status of an A Book member in the Union and holding an
Unlimited Chief Mate's license.
In the face of global shipboard restrictions affecting crews worldwide, Madeleine
found herself confined to one vessel for an astounding 217 days, half of which were
spent living with her crew in a shipyard in Shanghai, China. During this challenging
time, she, with unwavering support from her crew, created the acclaimed docuseries
"Restricted to Ship," garnering international attention.
Following a year of recovery, Madeleine was inspired to establish a production company
dedicated to showcasing the work lives of mariners. Recognizing the power of cinematic
storytelling, she believes it can bring much-needed attention to an industry often
overlooked. Her mission extends beyond increasing awareness; she aims to attract more
individuals to the maritime industry and improve support systems for current mariners
by sharing their experiences.
Under the banner of her company, "M. Leine Productions, LLC," Madeleine continues
to ship out, upgrade her license, and document the maritime world. Discover the captivating
media created by M. Leine Productions on YouTube and Instagram.
Join us as Madeleine unfolds her captivating journey and shares the untold stories
of those navigating the seas. Get ready to be inspired, empowered, and equipped to
foster an environment where you can truly thrive.
