President Dumont, thank you for the notification.  As Chancellor, I could not be prouder of the cadets, faculty, and staff at Cal Maritime.  This will no doubt be an exciting Summer Sea Term for them.  Please do keep me informed as to the progress of Training Ship GOLDEN BEAR and her crew.

Captain Bannister, thank you for leading this amazing educational opportunity.  We look forward to tracking your progress and celebrating your successes on this Summer Sea Term.  On behalf of the California State University System, I wish all aboard GOLDEN BEAR a safe, successful, and rewarding experience.  Thank you for what you are doing.  Your contributions to this educational program are very important to CSU as well as to California and the rest of the nation.

As you depart California today, may you have fair winds and following seas!

Warmly,

Dr. Mildred García

Chancellor
