Ahoy!
Summer Sea Term is winding down once again. With two weeks left, and just a few days until we reach our final port, cadets are busy wrapping up their academic assignments, daywork projects, and standing their final watches. The coming days will be jam packed with safety meetings, one final BBQ and karaoke sesh (thankfully the weather has improved), and other routine tasks.
For our last drill of the voyage, we donned our immersion suits one last time. This is part of a required quarterly inspection.
Engineers transferring fuel from EDG into barrels so they can pump fuel into the life boat.
Cadets have been busy painting the forward and after houses from the top down, getting the ship ready for our visit to Los Angeles.
Our last deck division got the opportunity to explore the ballast tank, and now all deck divisions have completed this valuable hands-on experience.
On top of everything else, cadets practice welding to complete various projects and daywork tasks aboard the ship. If something breaks, someone has to fix it - and it's usually an engineer!
Fair winds and following seas!
