The next day, we spent another day in Casablanca!

In the morning, we visited a local primary school, New World School. We were greeted with huge warm welcome accompanying with treats filled with dates, cookies, pastries, and Moroccan tea (a customary for welcoming guests). First, we heard opening remarks from the school’s administrators, then, we heard from some of the students as they highlighted places to visit, Moroccan foods to try, and popular items to buy through student led presentations. Our very own, Dr. Bachkar, also gave an inspiring and motivational speech to the audience.

After the morning presentations, we went on a school tour and got to see the students learning in action. The students were very excited to have us as visitors and show us what they’re currently learning in their classes!

Our 2nd stop of the day was Spirit AeroSystems, one of the largest manufacturers of commercial airplane & aerospace parts and technology. Not only did we learn more about the company’s operations producing various types of parts for planes, but we learned about Spirit AeroSystem company’s values and their outreach efforts to the local community.
