After sleeping in and enjoying breakfast with host families, we kicked off Day 2 of
our trip with some city tours!
Our first stop was the Hassan Tower. We explored the minaret tower and ancient ruins
dating back to the 12th century. At Hassan Tower, we learned about the rich history
of the mosque, the tower, and the mausoleum of King Mohammad V.
Our second stop was The Royal Palace of Rabat. The Royal Palace is the official residence
of current king, Mohammed VI. We learned more about where the king and his family
resides, the Moroccan governmental structure, and got a glimpse of what it’s like
to live and work at the palace.
Our final stop of the day was the Kasbah of the Oudayas, another UNESCO site. Where
we walked through alleyways learning more about the Kasbah’s rich history before taking
in the magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean.
