We left Fez early in the morning and after an 8+hr drive (with a few rest stops and meal breaks), we made it to Merzouga! Our night in the Sahara excursion was a highly anticipated activity on our itinerary, so even with a long day on the road, we were all excited for our camel ride. We ate dinner at a local hotel, then we made our way to the gathering area to meet with our camel guides for our trek to our tent stay in the desert. One by one, we loaded onto our camels and began our evening ride to our camp site.

Once we made it to the camp site, we were welcomed with traditional Moroccan Gnawa musical performances with live drums and dances around the fire pit late into the night. It was a great way to end a long travel day!
