Eastern Hillside

 

The Glen Cove Wildfire burned through campus in 2019, damaging property and scorching trees and vegetation along the Eastern Hillside.

 

The loss of vegetation left the Eastern Hillside vulnerable to rock slides and erosion.

 

     

A new hillside stabilization plan was designed and constructed in the months following the wildfire.

The  final design features a new concrete retaining wall and debris fence, improved hillside grading and drainage, geotextile matting and hydroseeding along the slope, and a new stairway from campus to Parking Lot E.

 

 

Construction was completed in late 2022.
