A graduate of Cal Maritime, Tom spent several years in the facilities engineering field, specializing in building automation. A 20 year stint building and owning specialty wine processing equipment followed. In 2010, Tom returned to facilities engineering, employed at a local hospital where he led energy conservation efforts. He began teaching full time at CMA in 2019.
