Dr. William Tsai, associate professor of mechanical engineering, has been selected as a member of the Class of 2025 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Associate Fellow.

AIAA Associate Fellows are “persons who have accomplished or been in charge of important engineering or scientific work, or who have done work of outstanding merit or have otherwise made outstanding contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics.” Only one member of the Institute for every 150 members is selected as an Associate Fellow each year by the Review Committee.

Professor Tsai (wtsai@csum.edu) has distinguished himself by his contributions to the aerospace community and has earned this title based on those contributions.   The citation reads:  “For a career dedicated to educating the next generation of aerospace engineers and advancing the thermophysics community.”

Professor Tsai now stands with some of the greats in the aerospace profession’s history and will continue to do much more throughout his career to shape the future of aerospace.
