Cal Maritime is pleased to announce that the Nautical Institute has reaccredited the Dynamic Positioning (DP) program until May 2027. Captain John Lloyd, the CEO of the Nautical Institute, conducted the audit from October 11-14.
As the only US maritime academy with a DP program accredited by the Nautical Institute, Cal Maritime offers the DP Induction and DP Simulation courses to our Marine Transportation cadets. Students who complete the courses and the required sea time obtain certification as Dynamic Positioning Officers. This maritime specialization can lead to fulfilling and lucrative careers on DP vessels throughout the world.
