Just one month after cadets moved onto the Cal Maritime campus, their families are invited for a visit and to spend the weekend learning “How to be Cadet.”

VP of Cadet Leadership and Development Kathleen McMahon shares that: “Family Weekend is the perfect time to reconnect with your cadet and see how they are transitioning to academy life.” In addition, says McMahon, “we are offering families experiences to gain insights into what a cadet does every day, like being on a boat, tying knots, leadership workshops, simulations, and formation.  Every parent gets a t-shirt and all will participate in a formation – which will be fun for everyone.”

This year's event coincides with Vallejo's annual Waterfront Weekend, which offers families to chance to participate in a local celebration in addition to the on-campus programming and festivities.
