(VALLEJO, Calif. – December 7, 2014) – Washington Monthly's College Guide is out, and Cal Maritime ranks highly in both their overall "contribution to the public good" rankings and in the Bang for the Buck category.
 
Among baccalaureate colleges nationally, Cal Maritime ranked sixth overall in Bang for the Buck rankings. Among all colleges and universities nationally, Cal Maritime ranked in the top 100 in that category.
 
In the overall rankings which rated schools on their contribution to the public good, Cal Maritime ranked 76th among all baccalaureate colleges nationally.
 
Earlier this year, Cal Maritime was ranked by U.S. News and World Report  as the number one best public college in the western region and third among western regional colleges overall.
 
Cal Maritime is the only U.S. maritime academy on the Pacific. The unique Cal Maritime program combines classroom learning with applied technology, leadership development and global awareness to prepare students for careers in engineering, transportation, international relations, business, and global logistics.
