May 20, 2011
The California Maritime Academy is implementing a new 2011 Summer Work Schedule beginning on June 6, 2011. The new 4/10 schedule will conclude on Friday, July 29, 2011. During this timeframe, campus offices will be open Monday through Thursday between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
For the most part, all employees will participate in the 2011 Summer Work Schedule Program (with the exception of those in the Facilities and Public Safety Departments). The program is being offered as a way to reduce energy costs and the University’s carbon footprint with energy, utility and environmental savings which are consistent with our environmental and renewable energy commitment and the efficient delivery of summer operations.
The Summer Work Schedule will also reduce commuting costs for our employees, and will offer the added benefit that employees will be able to enjoy more overall time with their families with three-day weekends each week during this timeframe.
The revised schedule during the summer program is as follows:
June 6 – July 29, 2011:
Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Closed Fridays
Employees seeking to learn more about the program, may visit the Faculty and Staff Human Resources website.
