CSU Benefits Open Enrollment is September 21 to October 16, 2020

The health and well-being of our employees is important, and we encourage you to take advantage of Open Enrollment to ensure your benefits work for you. The CSU is committed to offering benefits and plan options to cover your individual and family health needs.
The CSU annual Open Enrollment period takes place September 21 to October 16, 2020. The effective date for all changes that are made during the Open Enrollment period will be January 1, 2021. Take advantage of this annual opportunity to review and update your current benefits for the upcoming year. You can enroll, change or cancel CalPERS health, dental, vision, Flex cash, Dependent Care Reimbursement (DCRA), Health Care Reimbursement (HCRA) or voluntary benefits plans.
This year you can submit your forms securely via Office Forms to Kristen Bautista, HR & Benefits Coordinator. We will not accept any forms after October 16, 2020. Do not email forms that contain social security numbers or date of birth. Forms can be dropped off to the Payroll & Benefits office, Administration Building, Room 26 on Wednesdays between 8am-3pm during open enrollment.
Plan rates are determined by CalPERS. Premiums have changed for all plans for 2021. Please see Compare Plan Rates for 2021 for details. Visit CalPERS.ca.gov for details on rate changes and network changes shown below.
Blue Shield Trio is expanding its service to include the following counties: Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo and Ventura.
Anthem members that reside in Monterey County will now have the option to enroll in a combination plan (Medicare + Basic plan) from either the Anthem Blue Cross Select HMO and Medicare plans. Anthem is also introducing an HMO Medicare Advantage plan for combination enrollment members in Monterey County as well.
ASI Flex will automatically issue a set of two ASIFlex Cards for all first time Health Care Reimbursement Account participants newly enrolling effective for plan year 2021, without the hassle of completing a debit card request form. The ASIFlex Card can be used to pay for qualifying expenses. Employees who currently have a valid ASIFlex Card may continue to use their current card until it expires.
DCRA annual maximum for 2021 = $5,000 ($416.66 per month)
Vision Care Plan: Vision Service Plan (VSP) has decreased premiums for basic and premier coverage by 5 percent. Keep in mind premiums for basic vision coverage is fully paid for by the CSU. For more information about the vision care plan, visit csuactives.vspforme.com or call (800) 877-7195.
Voluntary Pet Insurance through Nationwide will be increasing the number of benefit options from two to three plan offerings. All three options assists with costs associated with pet expenses. These three options give you a choice to select a plan that best fits your budget. The plan options are effective September 17, 2020 for new enrollments or at the time of your renewal offers a 90%, 70% or 50% reimbursement. Health Plan Reminders
You will receive new health plan ID cards if you change your health plan or enroll for the first time.
If you change plans during Open Enrollment and you do not see the correct deduction applied by your February pay warrant, contact the Department of Human Resources.
If you change your health plans, do not continue to use your previous health plan after December 31, 2020.

SmileWay Wellness Benefit
SmileWay Wellness Benefit is an enhanced coverage for higher risk employees. Employees with certain qualifying diagnosed medical conditions (diabetes, heart disease, HIV/AIDS, rheumatoid arthritis or stroke) are offered expanded coverage which includes one periodontal scaling and root planning procedure per quadrant per calendar year covered at 100%. Also included is four (4) of any combination of yearly cleanings or periodontal maintenance. In order to use this great enhancement, you will need to opt in by visiting deltadentalins.com/csu and log in to your Online Services account. If you do not have an account you can click Register. Once you've accessed your account, click on the Optional Benefits tab in the left column, then click Opt In next to the name of the person you want to enroll, complete and submit the online form. You may also Opt In by phone at (800) 626-3108 to speak to a Customer Service representative Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm, Pacific Standard Time.
