Employee Performance Evaluations

 

Evaluation Periods

  • Staff, Management Personnel (MPP), and Confidential(C99) employees’ annual evaluation period: July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

  • Probationary and Temporary Staff, Management Personnel (MPP), and Confidential(C99) employees’ evaluation cycle: Employee Performance Review Cycle Quick Reference Chart 

Staff Employees

Performance evaluation drafts should be finalized by July 31, 2024. Electronically signed performance evaluations and rebuttals are due to Labor and Employee Relations by no later than August 14, 2024.

  • Supervisors must provide employees with time to review their draft evaluation and provide input based on timelines in their respective collective bargaining agreement as outlined below:

  • CSUEU: ten (10) workdays to review the draft evaluation and provide input

  • Once the review timelines noted above have passed, the performance evaluation draft will be routed back to the supervisor to finalize the performance evaluation. The supervisor must then meet with the employee to discuss the performance evaluation, ratings, comments, goals for the next review period, and inform the employee to sign their performance evaluation.

  • In the event a Staff employee wishes to rebut the performance evaluation, the employee may:

MPP and Confidential Employees

Performance evaluation drafts should be finalized by July 31, 2024. Signed performance evaluations are due no later than August 14, 2024.

  • MPP and Confidential employees should receive at least five (5) days to review and provide feedback on their draft evaluation.

  • Once the time allotment noted above has passed, the supervisor will finalize the performance evaluation. The supervisor must then meet with the employee to discuss the performance evaluation, ratings, comments, goals for the next review period, and obtain the employee signature.

  • In the event the MPP employee wishes to rebut the performance evaluation, the employee may use the Reconsideration Procedure for Management Personnel Plan Employees. Please contact Elba Cruz in Human Resources, at extension 1419 for additional information.

  • Confidential Employees who wish to rebut the performance evaluation should be directed to contact Elba Cruz,  ecruz@csum.edu
