Housing & Residential Life

Cal Maritime is a residential campus- all unmarried students under the age of 24 are required to live on campus and participate in a meal plan throughout the duration of their education at the university.

At Cal Maritime, we have a residential policy that maintains a student-centered environment that not only provides opportunities for learning, personal growth, social development and life skills but also provides students a comfortable, safe and secure living environment that supports their academic success. All students while attending Cal Maritime have additional responsibilities in the evening hours in regards to watch standing duties.

Cal Maritime’s uniqueness in this nature along with the stated residential policy are the reasons why Cal Maritime has maintained this philosophy throughout the years. We believe in research in higher education that indicates living on and being involved in student life on campus is in the best interest for you to be successful in both your academic career and your personal development as a student.
