Admission Process Timeline for Students Applying for Fall 2017

30 day application period for Cal Maritime's Early Application (EA) Program - (Option for freshman applicants only) – All freshman admission applications submitted through
www.csumentor.edu early admission option on the application.  
 
October, 2016 Last month to take the SAT or ACT for Early Admission (EA) puposes. Scores must arrive by November 15, 2016

60 day application period for Cal Maritime's Regular Application (RA) Program - (Option for freshman and transfer applicants) – All admission applications submitted through
 www.csumentor.edu during this period will be considered for the Regular Admission Program if students do not select the regular admission option on the application. After November 30, a few majors may remain open until all spaces are filled.  

 

Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016
December, 2016 Last month to take SAT or ACT for regulary (RA) admission purposes. Scores must arrive by January 11, 2017
 
March 2, 2017 Financial Aid Applications (FAFSA) for the fall can be submitted during this period
 

January 4, 2017 - April 20, 2017

 

Best time for spring semester campus visits
 
February 1, 2017 Admission application notifications begin for Freshmen (Feb 15 for Transfer Students)
 
April 1, 2017 Priority date to submit health forms and receive a medical review before May 1 if no additional medical information is determined to be necessary. 
The final deadline for health documents is May 1.

 
Saturday, April 8, 2017 "Cal Maritime Day" Campus open house for admitted students and families 
 
No later than May 1, 2017 Deadline for admitted students to send Cal Maritime the (non-refundable) $500 enrollment deposit,
Admission Acknowledgement  Form, health documents, and Housing License Agreement
or fall space may not be available

 
May 6, 2017 Last day to take the ELM or EPT placement tests if English and math proficiency are not demonstrated in other ways
 
May 17, 2017 "Smart Page" available through MyCalMaritime student portal and PeopleSoft for those required to take Early Start to tell us their plans to do so.
 
May 31, 2017

Last day to confirm if Early Start Program is needed and (and if Early Start is required) tell us their plans to take Early Start at any CSU campus (or equivalent remediating courses elsewhere).
Cal Maritime's Admission Office will contact those who must participate in the Early Start program by May 17 and and give instructions on how to indicate which course(s) each student chooses to fulfill the Early Start requirement.

Student charges are due unless prior arrangements have been made with the Student Accounts Office.  Students with financial aid should contact the Financial Aid Office to understand how financial aid interacts with campus financial due dates.
