Minor in Global Studies and Maritime Affairs

The minor in Global Studies and Maritime Affairs is designed to give students an in-depth overview of issues relating to global maritime policy. Students are required to take nine units of courses in history, ocean issues, and theories related to the political and/or economic foundations of global relations. Students then specialize by taking six units of electives in areas of global maritime policy of specific interest to them.

 

MINOR IN GLOBAL STUDIES AND MARITIME AFFAIRS

Requirements for the GSMA Minor:

GMA 105 Ocean Politics (3 units)

HIS 300 Maritime History of the U.S (3 units)

GMA 200 Globalization (3 units)

– or –

GMA 100 Introduction to International Relations (3 units)

 

Plus at least six (6) units of the following:

Any GMA-designated course (3 units)

ECO 200 Economic Geography (3 units)

LAW 200 Environmental Law (3 units)

LAW 300 International Law (3 units)
