Dr. Nincic received her doctorate in Political Science/International Relations from New York University, and has held previous positions at the University of California, Davis; the Hoover Institution; and the US Department of Defense. Her research focuses on maritime security, particularly piracy and terrorism.

Dr. Lynch has an expertise in local and US Maritime History. He is a frequent contributor to television, radio, and mass-media outlets and is available for interviews and consultation. He has authored numerous articles on American Maritime History as well as a manuscript for the National Park Service, Beyond the Golden Gate: A Maritime History of California. He is particularly interested in West Coast and local maritime history as well as issues of race, class and gender in the maritime world.
