Remediation Information

Remedial Courses for Cal Maritime Students:

The California Maritime Academy has partnered with Omega Math, an online program that offers remedial and transferrable courses, for students who need to demonstrate proficiency in remedial math and English.   Students are encouraged to demonstrate proficiency by passing the online remedial courses prior to the start of the Fall term and/or no later than the start of the students' enrollment in the second year at Cal Maritime.  Students who do not complete their remediation in their first year will not be eligible to continue at the California Maritime Academy.

Math Remediation:

Visit Omega Math to enroll in the Intermediate Algebra course and follow the prompts. The staff at Omega Math will register you in Intermediate Algebra.Once you are enrolled, you may begin the course.   Cal State Maritime requires the final be proctored and that you earn at least a 60% or higher on the final. The final exam must be proctored at college testing center or a Sylvan Learning Center. You can take the final at Cal State Maritime. Contact Vivienne McClendon, Lab Building Room 110 - vmcclendon@csum.edu to schedule an appointment. To set up a final at another college or Sylvan Learning Center, please read the "Proctor Final Set Up" link inside your Omega Math account.

English Remediation:

Visit Omega Math to enroll in the College Reading and Composition course and follow the prompts.  The staff at Omega Math will enroll you in College Reading and Composition. The next Start Date: June 2, 2014; End Date: July 18, 2014
