Estimated Cost to Attend

The Cost Of Attendance (COA) is what we estimate it to cost to attend Cal Maritime for the academic year (fall and spring). The COA includes tuition and fees, food and housing, books and supplies, transportation, and personal and miscellaneous expenses.

The only "direct billed" costs (items that the campus will charge you for directly) are tuition and fees, food and housing (if living on campus) and the uniform. Other expenses, such as books and supplies, travel and miscellaneous expenses, and Off Campus food and housing are an estimate and your actual costs may be higher or lower than what we estimate. This can be useful in budgeting your expenses.

California State University makes every effort to keep student costs to a minimum. Fees listed in published schedules or student accounts may need to be increased when public funding is inadequate. Therefore, CSU must reserve the right, even after initial fee payments are made, to increase or modify any listed fees, without notice, until the date when instruction for a particular semester or quarter has begun. All CSU listed fees (e.g., Tuition) should be regarded as estimates that are subject to change upon approval by The Board of Trustees.

Training Ship Golden Bear (TSGB) Cruise and International Experience (IE)

The costs associated with TSGB and International Experience are not factored into the standard budget. Enrollment for TSGB and IE occurs during the Summer Term and are subject to tuition and fees. Students can estimate to spend between $4,000 - $6,000. Financial aid may be available for qualifying students to help with the costs associated with enrollment in those programs, and Summer financial aid awarding will be done after the student registers for Summer classes.
