  • Ballast Water Treatment
  • Oil Spill Response Readiness
  • Tug Matrix Studies
  • Light Studies

  • Human Factors in Bridge Resource Management

The California Maritime Academy has partnered with industry, government, and other research teams to carry out collaborative studies.  Our facilities are conveniently situated in the midst of the bustling Bay Area with several major cities nearby, central freeways, and many transportation and lodging options.  Berkeley and Oakland are only a short drive from the campus, and San Francisco is less than thirty minutes away.  Three international airports, Oakland, San Francisco and Sacramento International, serve the area making it an easily accessed from anywhere in the country.

In addition, Shipboard Research, Development, and Evaluation activities can be conducted year-round aboard Cal Maritime's 500-foot Training Ship Golden Bear.  It provides a truly one of a kind facility for maritime related studies.
