The EOP application period for Fall 2020 is October 1, 2019, through January 15, 2020.
CSU has moved to the CalStateApply application system. The EOP application process is as follows:
1) Complete the undergraduate application via CalStateApply during the university application period and fill out the supplemental EOP questions by January 15.
2) On your application, you'll be asked to enter the email addresses of two teachers, counselors, or community members who can attest to your potential for success at a four-year college and fit for EOP. Your recommenders must submit their recommendation forms by January 31.
3) File the FAFSA or California Dream Act Application by the March 2 priority deadline in order to confirm financial eligibility.
Who is eligible to apply for EOP?
California residents and AB 540 students with a history of educational and economic disadvantage who meet the below income eligibility index are encouraged to apply for the program. However, due to space and resource limitations, not all eligible students are guaranteed acceptance to EOP. Applications from students whose income exceeds the eligibility guidelines will not be reviewed. If you believe you should be considered as EOP eligible due to extenuating circumstances, please contact the EOP Office directly.
2020-2021 EOP Family Income Guidelines
1 (Single, no dependents)
2 (Married, no dependents other than spouse)
2 (With dependent other than spouse)
EOP students who qualify for financial aid may receive an EOP Grant as part of their financial aid package, renewable annually for students who meet the terms of the EOP Student Success Agreement. Please note that the application for financial aid is a separate process from the EOP selection process, and is handled by the Office of Financial Aid.
EOP Selection Process
All applications completed by the deadline will be reviewed by the EOP Selection Committee. The committee will consider factors including disadvantaged background, financial need, academic performance, motivation, and potential for success in college. Applicants will be notified of their selection status by March 15. Please be sure to complete all forms completely to give the committee the best opportunity to understand your fit for the program. Admission to the campus does not guarantee admission to EOP, nor does admission to EOP guarantee admission to Cal Maritime.
Please note that students admitted to EOP qualify for a reduced enrollment deposit of $350. It is very important to follow the instructions in your EOP program admission letter to pay your enrollment deposit. If you follow the general instructions on the Cal Maritime website or in your campus admission documents, you will be charged the general campus $500 deposit.
